or whenever we’re confronted
by trouble so much larger
than our minds can fathom
when our hearts are filled
with questions and doubts
beyond our understanding
when fear seizes our very being
rendering our wills useless
remember the promise He made:
“I will be with you always”
look then to his disciples
men and women whom embraced his Spirit
they whom rallied to his standard
they are his body in the world
they are his helping hands
they are his carrying feet
they are his assuring voice
they are his compassionate touch
they are his shepherds in the field
they carry his banner of hope and love
then remember again his words:
“Peace be with you”
