simple things
are what gives me joy
the sun peeking
through the kitchen window
as i washed the dishes
the gurgling of water
as the coffee maker
concocts its magic
the aroma
wafting from the kitchen
heralding the arrival
of fresh baked muffins
the winning smile
from an infant
safely tucked
in its mother’s embrace
the last gleam of sunlight
on a placid lake
after a long hard day
the taste of gratefulness
lingering
over the last sip
of a well-worn cup
these are the things
that fills me
with peace
these are the things
that reminds me
that i am beloved
made in the image and likeness
of a loving God
Very nice. Great to see a longer poem with such a positive message.

Thanks. It’s a piece I wrote before starting the blog.

Made me think of James 1:17 “every good and perfect gift comes down from above from the Father of lights” (from memory but that’s close)
