low cloud ceiling day
no outlet for jet roar
cattle chew their cuds
Month: May 2019
2019.05.05: confounding
one friend gives his life
one friend loves like a brother
yet the scale’s balanced
2019.05.04: simple joys
simple things
are what gives me joy
the sun peeking
through the kitchen window
as i washed the dishes
the gurgling of water
as the coffee maker
concocts its magic
the aroma
wafting from the kitchen
heralding the arrival
of fresh baked muffins
the winning smile
from an infant
safely tucked
in its mother’s embrace
the last gleam of sunlight
on a placid lake
after a long hard day
the taste of gratefulness
lingering
over the last sip
of a well-worn cup
these are the things
that fills me
with peace
these are the things
that reminds me
that i am beloved
made in the image and likeness
of a loving God
2019.05.03: subliminal
rumble of thunder
the painting on the wall rattles
horses running free
2019.05.02: unshed
cherry petals fall
sitting alone on park bench
so much left unsaid
