showing “life goes on”

Last week an early winter storm rained and sleeted ice that left over two hundred thousand homes without power. Early on I remembered looking out at the trees in the greenbelt behind our house and thinking that if the rain would stop the ice would melt off the leaves and branches would lift back off again with little or no harm being done. And, we know the rest of that story. Today as I watch my fellow Americans stand in long lines to cast their votes in the most pivotal presidential election that I can remember, I experienced a little deja vu. Let’s hope that we can all come together and live peacefully in the aftermath.
