one life to live you can hold it you can live it you can give it it’s your choice to make or not in the end it will be - gone
one life to live to do to be to witness what will your life say when you are - gone

one life to live you can hold it you can live it you can give it it’s your choice to make or not in the end it will be - gone
one life to live to do to be to witness what will your life say when you are - gone
in the cool of the morning
a pair of blackbirds
he in iridescent black
she in camouflage brown
seemingly content
foraging on the ground
for the eternity . . .
. . . of a moment
before sprouting wings
and returning to the sky
leaving behind a voyeur
in breathless wonder
simple things
are what gives me joy
the sun peeking
through the kitchen window
as i washed the dishes
the gurgling of water
as the coffee maker
concocts its magic
the aroma
wafting from the kitchen
heralding the arrival
of fresh baked muffins
the winning smile
from an infant
safely tucked
in its mother’s embrace
the last gleam of sunlight
on a placid lake
after a long hard day
the taste of gratefulness
lingering
over the last sip
of a well-worn cup
these are the things
that fills me
with peace
these are the things
that reminds me
that i am beloved
made in the image and likeness
of a loving God
