where you are

a model to follow
misfortune and hard work
led to prosperous lives
in many new places
we lost a country
but gained the human race
let’s never forget
from where we came
but let’s not dwell
in when we can’t change
we can never move forward
while looking back
take wisdom from the past
make peace with the present
bring hope to the future
gather courage to love
home is where the heart is
now is the time
here is the place
this is the life
make it matter
