So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. – 2 Cor 5:17
new day straining hard
to separate the bird songs
i hear my soul stir
So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. – 2 Cor 5:17
new day straining hard
to separate the bird songs
i hear my soul stir
and free those who through fear of death had been subject to slavery all their life. – Heb 2:15
that day in the old church
sitting at a friend’s funeral
even the stained glass window
could not keep out your saving light
that night in the hot tent
awakened by gripping fear
holding on desperately
by a rosary counted on fingers
that morning in the chapel
i was sure the door was locked
and i was shut out forever
from the inner sanctuary
that moment when i first knew
the beating of my own heart
was a knocking on the door
to a hidden inner sanctum
every aware moment since
i opened the door to the God
who came and died to show
that death is not the end of Love
A journey of a thousand miles begin with a single step. Lao-Tzu
we are all born
with an emptiness inside
a longing for more
than the struggle to survive
a mystery is waiting
for those who yearn
with searching minds
and open hearts
we will take the plunge
falling
until our wings spread
taking flight each day
where will we go
what will we see
only the future will reveal
so it is today
this journey begins
yesterday was too soon
tomorrow will be too late
take a moment
breath in deeply
feel the exhilaration
then dive in
let’s make a leap of faith
