if we could all see
the fragile wonder of life
a peace beyond words

if we could all see
the fragile wonder of life
a peace beyond words

Last week an early winter storm rained and sleeted ice that left over two hundred thousand homes without power. Early on I remembered looking out at the trees in the greenbelt behind our house and thinking that if the rain would stop the ice would melt off the leaves and branches would lift back off again with little or no harm being done. And, we know the rest of that story. Today as I watch my fellow Americans stand in long lines to cast their votes in the most pivotal presidential election that I can remember, I experienced a little deja vu. Let’s hope that we can all come together and live peacefully in the aftermath.
the scales has been set
excess growth and early freeze
the winds cast their votes
no one said justice was fair
only that mercy was kind
seasons in balance
sunrise south of street center
fall gains momentum
when the light outside
match the ambient within
equilibrium
#leaves on the tree
equal #leaves on the ground
then the wind shifts
