spring’s finally here
with less than usual fanfare
are our hearts less glad

shall we grieve for what’s missing
or be thankful for what we have
spring’s finally here
with less than usual fanfare
are our hearts less glad

shall we grieve for what’s missing
or be thankful for what we have
beauty and sadness
connected to one and all
seat of compassion
all night long my heart
up and down memory lane
chasing lost dreams
“My people heard not my voice, and obeyed me not;
So I gave them up to the hardness of their hearts;
they walked according to their own counsels.” – Ps 81: 12:13
i am grateful
you never gave up on me
you sent the clouds
to bring rain that softened my heart
after i stopped my complaining
i heard your small soft voice
that has always resided in my heart
i am grateful
that you came into the world
to rescue me
please don’t leave me
to my own counsel
until we’re home again
“And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” Jn 3:14-15
whether a belief is actuated
feverishly out of fear from the mind
perfunctorily as a duty on the lips
or laboriously from the loving heart
each will be rewarded accordingly
