first day of July
color finally changing
can’t wait to taste red

first day of July
color finally changing
can’t wait to taste red

busyness of life
work, school, church, sports and others
yet no time to live
pause to breath and be present
the now of eternity

looking with wonder
never knowing cruelty
wide eyed innocence

stillness this morning
lines across an even blue
kites content to perch

a crispness of air
the bent in the sycamore
a brisk summer walk
