peach tint in the mist
reaching the fall equinox
my days grow shorter

peach tint in the mist
reaching the fall equinox
my days grow shorter
passing equinox
sad to see the decline of
the light in the west
standing in sunlight
deer graze on shrinking shadow
pulling back winter
stillness this morning
in the storm and rain last night
summer’s last hurrah
little cove beaming
with the light of her beloved
sunrise around bend
only twice each year
on the way north and then south
enter her embrace
gliding waterfowls
stopping during migration
to share in the joy
