on the mountain top
face to face with Creation
to see and be seen
how insignificant one is –
separated from the Whole
on the mountain top
face to face with Creation
to see and be seen
how insignificant one is –
separated from the Whole
air that won’t fill space
water that won’t flow downhill
hearts that never love
living for others is love
dying to oneself is life
in fog and darkness
only illumination
comes from deep within
the only way to proceed
to be present in each step
for once in their lives
everyone should hear the words
“This is my Beloved”
not because we’re deserving
but because Love needs to speak
in times dire as these
hope lies in something greater
the birth of the One
becoming fully human
advancing the common good
