2015.09.16: fallen nature

But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth. – 1 Tim 3:15

even in God’s house
the blind attempts to lead
the deaf and mute

to see God’s mountain
but not be able to cross
into the Promise Land

hope endures
as long as we breath
wisdom lives

Jesus said, “But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.” – Lk 7:35

2015.07.28: Wisdom

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his Kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. – Mt 13:41

like a persistent siren
you whisper from the deep
soft but insistent
you demand detachment
from all things disorderly
little by little you peel back
the layers of worldly trappings
revealing the newborn child
as perfect as the day of creation
then the harvesters come
to remove all implants not belonging
along with all who won’t let go

2015.06.26: awakening of wisdom

Blessed are you who fear the LORD,
who walk in his ways!
For you shall eat the fruit of your handiwork;
blessed shall you be, and favored. – Ps 128:1-2

When Jesus came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.” – Mt 8:1-2

oh happy human fault
it wants to take credit
for success of good fortune
it wants to ascribe blame
for failure of ill fortune
only through the awakening of spirit
and the eyes of wisdom
can the monkey mind see
the rain falls on the good and the bad
illness and death visits the bad and the good

blessed are those who are grateful
who shares the fruit of an abundant harvest
who ministers to the ill and welcomes the outcast
they are the children of God
they manifest heaven on earth
