This reminds me of a lovely story I heard on the radio about a man who heard an owl when he was in his garden one night. He started hooting and the owl hooted back. This delightful relationship lasted for several nights. The man recounted the tale in the pub to some friends, and it turned out that another man, a neighbour, had been doing the same thing, and they had been hooting at each other… no owls involved.
A pitifully forlorn attempt to find “love”!
Sad!
Very nice Haiku.
Thanks.

Theyβre actually announcing their territory also but love makes it more poetic. π
