2015.04.02: day of irony

“I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” – Jn 13:15

Thank you for the grace
to see the irony
that God put on flesh
to wash our feet
so that we can enter
the sanctuary and worship him.
All he asked of us
to do that for one another.
Yet our stubborn minds
and stone hard hearts
refuse to do even that.
We speak the words
but we don’t do the deeds.
Each of us place self
above the others.
He can wash our feet
but he can’t make us clean.
He can clear the Way for us
but he can’t make us stay on the path.
He can give us a model
but he can’t make us follow.

Father, grant me the courage
to follow His model
with people that love me
with people that i love
with people that i hate
with people that hate me.

2015.04.01: April Fool

Deeply distressed at this,
they began to say to him one after another,
“Surely it is not I, Lord?” Mt 26:22

 

when I deny Him
I deny the Truth
when I deny the Truth
I deny the One
when I deny the One
I deny the one
when I deny the one
I deny myself
when I deny myself
I deny Him
the cycle goes on and on
the cycle can not be broken
by denying
the cycle can only be broken
by accepting

accept Him
accept the Truth
accept the One
accept the one
accept myself
accept my brokenness
accept my need for the Whole
accept my need for the One
accept the One in Flesh
accept Him
accept His love poured out
ad infinitum

2015.03.30: the Servant of God

I formed you, and set you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations – Is 42:1-6

The Evil-one’s plan has always been
the breaking of the Whole
the separation of the One
Light from Darkness
Now from Eternity
Truth from Love
Justice from Mercy
Life from Death
Creature from Creator
Human from Divine
many from One.

So it was,
to satisfy those
given to hardness of heart,
that the Second:
separated himself from the First
emptied himself of his divinity
and becoming only human
entered into darkness
without Light
without Truth
without Love
without Justice
without Mercy
and without Life.

Like a mariner upon a dark sea
using only the charts of stars
to navigate the waters
he used the scriptures
to find his way in darkness.
The words were but shadows
more like road signs than maps
but even in diminished form
what author wouldn’t
recognize his own work.
Then he discovered
the breath of the Spirit
the Origin of life
the Link connecting
the First with the Second
the Divine with the Human
the Will with the Way
the Beginning with the End.

But the Way will be hard
for the journey to Life
goes through Death.
